Under the brand of Elektron ® Ultrasonix, Magnesium Elektron is now offering the capabilities of this outstanding machine to industry.
Brand new in 2009, this state of the art machine was designed specifically for the ultrasonic testing requirements of Magnesium Elektron.
Ultrasonic immersion testing removes the inherent ‘human error’ factor of other ultrasonic test systems, enabling highly repeatable, consistent monitoring of material cleanliness.
Built by GE Inspection Technologies, this immersion ultrasonic machine is at the forefront of ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
Designed with an extra large scanning envelope, parts up to 3000mm x 1000mm x 450mm can be ultrasonically scanned immersed in water. The system is able to test both round billets and flat plates, and is capable of multi layer reporting.
The system is support by ultra modern K-scan data acquisition and analysis software with full colour reporting in both B-SCAN and 3D C-SCAN modes. Defects can be individually analysed with multi-plane probes producing detailed 3D views through the part.

Magnesium Elektron can offer to ultrasonically immersion test your bar, billet, plate or extrusion to the Aerospace Material Specification AMS 2154. Elektron® Ultrasonix operators are qualified to NAS 410 level 2 and reports can be tailored to your requirements. Elektron® Ultrasonix offers a fast, cost efficient method of ensuring your product quality.
